The Complaints by Ian Rankin

The Complaints

The Complaints is the story of Inspector Malcolm Fox, who works ‘Complaints and Conduct‘ (The Scottish equivalent of Internal Affairs). Fox’s sister’s boyfriend turns up dead, and Fox becomes a murder suspect. Fox gets suspended, but it doesn’t stop him from investigating. The deeper he goes the more he uncovers and the wider the plot becomes. Rankin writes a good story and the characters felt lifelike. However I don’t think police procedurals are my cup of tea.
