Hull Zero Three by Greg Bear

Hull Zero Three

Hull Zero Three drops the reader into an interstellar spaceship. Into the middle of a mystery. In the middle of their voyage to another planet. The main character The Teacher doesn’t know what’s going on. He’s being hunted. The ship is deadly cold in some areas and the rotation (gravity) starts and stops almost at random. He meets other people; other creatures, who don’t trust each other, because no one seems to know what is going on. They have memories they don’t trust because they’re artificial. The teacher and a small band of allies leave the dying Hull Zero One, skip the dead Hull Zero Two, for answers in Hull Zero Three.
I enjoyed trying to solve the mystery, but I found the story rather average.
