Mr. Penumbra’s 24-Hour Bookstore by Robin Sloan

Mr. Penumbra's 24 Hour Bookstore

The novel takes place in San Francisco, where Clay Jannon, out of work web designer, accepts a job working the night shift at Mr. Penumbra’s 24-Hour Bookstore.  It’s not your ordinary bookstore.  There are a few shelves of the type of books you’d expect to find, but the majority of the store consist of very unique volumes, written in code, which are strictly for members.

This was a very fun read.  The Clay and his friends, a bunch of computer nerds, seek to solve the mystery of this strange club, and as a reader, I greatly enjoyed the characters and the twists and turns that go along with this journey.  My only disappointment was the ending.
