Dave Barry’s Book of Bad Songs is amusing at best. It made me want to revisit some of the songs mentioned. If a song is truly bad, it becomes good, especial if it is old enough to trigger some nostalgia. The book is short because it is based on a single column Barry wrote for the paper; then expanded to book length by commenting on the letters he received because of it. The songs named are mostly from the 1960s and 1970s. He sticks to Rock ‘n’ Roll, R&B, and Pop. Barry also limits himself to the lyrics. Not a word is said for bad musical arrangements.
