Queen Unseen by Peter Hince

Queen Unseen

Queen Unseen: My Life With The Greatest Rock Band Of The 20th Century

Hince spent ten years (1975-1985) as the head roadie for Queen. He got to see the band at its peak- up close and personal. (Literally under Freddie’s piano.) Hince talks about his job in some detail. This is the book’s strength. Hince details a side of the Rock ‘n’ Roll business that is rarely written about.
Hince was Freddie and John’s personal roadie. He has more to say about them than about Roger and Brian. Hince doesn’t sugar-coat the stories from the road and in the studio, but he isn’t disrespectful of his employers either. The book covers the day-to-day work of helping one of the greatest bands ever, stay at that level- it is a lot of hard work, but it was also quite rewarding.
