Armada by Ernest Cline

Armada: A Novel revolves around video game play. It shares some of the feel of Cline’s book: “Ready Player One” but it’s not a sequel. This book deals with First Contact, which is one of my favorite tropes in Science Fiction, but with a plot that isn’t too serious. It reads like a script to a 1980’s B-movie. The story had a 1980’s vibe with it’s reliance on the decade’s music, games, and movies. The book was an easy read and Cline’s characters are pretty good.
