Tyrannosaur Canyon by Douglas Preston

Tyrannosaur Canyon

The great thing about book challenges, is sometimes you venture out of your normal reading genre in order to find a book that fits the challenge.  That’s exactly what caused me to choose Tyrannosaur Canyon.  I needed a book with a dinosaur on the cover and Preston’s novel satisfied that requirement.

It was fun to read a thriller for a change.  In the opening pages, a treasure-seeker is murdered in a New Mexico canyon.  He is found by a stranger, whispers about his great find, his notebook, and his wish that his daughter inherit the treasure.  What follows is an entertaining story, filled with action, adventure, and a perfectly preserved T-rex that men would kill for.

I thought twist at the end was a bit too rushed, and it didn’t actually help the story.  But still it was entertaining.
